Clarence R. “Bob” Mackey, U.S. Navy, Retired, age 88. Longtime Calumet City and Roseland resident recently of St. John, IN. Retired Chief Petty Officer, U.S. Navy, commissioned to the USS Coral Sea Oct. 1, 1947. World War II and Korean War Veteran with 43 years of combined Active and Reserve service. Lifetime member of Roseland Post 49 American Legion. Retired Machinist with 35 years of service with the C&EI/Union Pacific Railroad. Husband of the late Agnes nee White. Father of Irene Massacavollo and the late James (Donna) Sharp. Grandfather of James (Lisa) and Anthony (Rachelle) Massacavollo, Brian Sharp and Kristine (C.J.) Hyman. Great grandfather of Ashley, Steven, Zakary, Caitlyn, Samantha, Trey, Brianna, Christopher and Alexa. Great-great grandfather of Ronnie. Son of the late Irene Gretchell and Richard Mackey. Brother of Elizabeth Hetrick and the late Jean Catherine Schmidt, Charles and James Mackey. Bob lived his life in humble service to his family, his country, his fellow veterans and his friends & neighbors. We are forever grateful. Resting at Panozzo Bros.
