Mellanie Gaile Trachsel nee Zweifel age 67. Longtime Crete resident. Retired in 2011 from Harvey School District 152 after 40 years as a teacher at Holmes Elementary. Loving wife of the late Fred Trachsel. Beloved daughter of the late Ida (nee Kopeika) and Gerald Zweifel. Sister of the late Arnold Zweifel. Devoted daughter in law of the late Mae (nee Cannizzo) and Fred Trachsel. Dear cousin, aunt and friend of many. Mellanie was a graduate of Thornton Twp High School and Illinois State University. She received her Master’s Degree in Education from National Lewis University. Mellanie enjoyed traveling the world, her affiliation with DANK/Jolly Burgenlanders and the many other social and philanthropic groups she belonged to. Resting at Panozzo Bros. Funeral Home, 530 W. 14th St. (U.S. Rt. 30, 3 blks E. of Western Ave.), Chicago Heights on Wednesday January 27th from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
