Donald P. Wernicke age 86. Born and raised in Dolton, where he resided for 75 years prior to moving to The Park in Olympia Fields in 2002. United States Navy Veteran of WWII. An Accountant for Standard Oil of Indiana (Amoco) Don retired in 1984 after 25 years of service. He was a lifelong member of the Immanuel Bethel United Church of Christ in Dolton. A tenor vocalist, Don was known to share his talents at weddings, parties and funerals throughout his life. Son of the late Irene nee Boesenberg and John C. Wernicke. Brother of the late John E. (late Bernice), Rene D. (Elizabeth) and Muriel G. Wernicke. Uncle of John J. Wernicke, Patricia Gnaster, Greg Wernicke, Sheryl Reiner and Michelle Lovern. Resting at Panozzo Bros. Funeral Home, 530 W. 14th St. (U.S. Rt. 30, 3 blks E. of Western Ave.), Chicago Heights Saturday January 12th from 10:00 AM until time of funeral services at 12:00 Noon.
