Dwight L. Snow, age 83, died on Monday, June 12, 2017 at home in Olympia Fields, IL. He was born in Pontiac, Illinois to Helen nee Marker and Dwight Snow. Dwight was a competitive track and field athlete beginning at Pontiac High School and continuing until the age of 73 with medals in the Senior Olympics. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1953-1957. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology in 1968 and completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard School of Business in 1975. Dwight retired in 1998, ending his career as Vice President of Engineering. He was an avid traveler and visited all 7 continents. Dwight was preceded in death by his parents, his brother John, and sister Dorothy Burger. Dwight is survived by his wife Nancy nee Walter, daughter Ann and son Dwight W. He is also survived by his brother Bill, and sister Ima Winstead. He leaves behind four grandchildren; Jeff, Kaila, Owen and Colette. Resting at Panozzo Bros. Funeral Home 530 W. 14th St. (US Rt. 30, 3 blks E. of Western Ave) Chicago Heights on Sunday June 18th from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Lying in state Monday morning June 19th at Faith Lutheran Church, 18645 Dixie Hwy., Homewood from 10:00 AM until time of services at 11:00 AM. Committal with military honors Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the ELCA World Hunger Agency at elca.org/worldhunger.
