Fred W. Ruhe Jr. age 79. A lifelong Chicago Heights resident, Fred operated the family owned Chicago Heights Glass Co. He was a graduate of Bloom HS Class of ‘50, Illinois State University Class of ’54, received his Master in Education from the University of Illinois, and served the Brookwood School District 167 Board of Education. Fred was a U.S. Army Veteran, a member of the Chicago Heights Lions Club and the Chicago Heights Country Club, and was founder and coach of Glenwood Cougars Football. Husband of 58 years of Mary nee Lange. Father of Fred W. (Joni Martin) Ruhe III, Jeff (Heidi) Ruhe, and Linda (Ed) Marsh. Grandfather of Matt Ruhe, Joe (Melanie Kroner)Ruhe, Adam (Jennifer Mrdalj) Ruhe, Lauren Ruhe, Lucas Ruhe, Madeline Marsh, and Benjamin Ruhe. Great grandfather of Evan Ruhe. Brother of Marilyn Letko and Gwen (late James) Hensley. Resting at Panozzo Bros. Funeral Home, 530 W. 14th St (US rt. 30, 3 Blks E. of Western Ave) Chicago Heights on Sunday Jan. 6th from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Body will lie in state on Monday morning at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 667 W. 8th St, Chicago Heights from 10:00 AM until time of services at 11:00 AM.
