Started his Law Career at Halfpenny, Hahn, and Roche LLP, then as a Proprietor of Gerald J. Shine Attorney at Law. Worked as General Counsel for National Aamco Dealers Association. Past President and longtime member of the former Chicago Heights Country Club, Chicago Heights Kiwanis Club, and the Celtic Legal Society. Husband for 69 years of the late Eleanor nee Horency. Father of Patricia “Patti” (John) Hayes, Thomas (Sherry) Shine and the late Robert (Janet) Shine. Grandfather of Dr. John Ryan (Patricia “Patti”) Hayes, Jennifer Hayes, Daniel Shine, Cayla Shine, Megan Shine, Matthew Shine and Connor Shine. Great grandfather of Holden Hayes and Elsie Hayes. Son of the late Mary Ruth nee Scanlan and William T. Shine II. Brother of the late William T (late Dorothy) Shine III and Mortimer “Mort” (late Bernice) Shine. Uncle and friend of many. Jerry was a great guy. In my youth, I caddied for him at Chicago Heights Country Club. I will always remember how funny he was. May God bless Jerry on his journey home.
