John J. O’Brien, age 88. Longtime Sauk Village resident formerly of Homewood. Graduate of St. Joseph Grammar School, St. Rita High School and St. Ambrose University. Retired Special Agent for the Illinois Central Railroad Police Department with over 40 years of service. U.S. Army Veteran. Husband for 65 years of Theresa nee Dionne. Father of Thomas (Jeanette), James (Lori), Patricia (William) Schmidtke, Timothy (Carol) and Maureen (Bernard) Cagney. Grandfather of Patrick, Jeffrey, Michelle, Kelly and Shannon O’Brien, Kevin, Daniel and Katie Schmidtke, Aileen and Matthew Cagney. Son of the late Mary Kane and James C. O’Brien. Brother of the late Mary Elizabeth O’Brien and Margaret (late David) Berkley. Dear uncle and friend of many. Visitation will be held at St. James Catholic Church, 22400 S. Torrence Ave, Sauk Village, on Monday morning June 13^th from 9:30 AM until time of funeral mass at 10:30 AM. Interment Assumption Cemetery, Glenwood.
