John Vrabec age 89, passed away peacefully on Sunday October 1st at the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy where he had resided the past 3 years. Longtime South Holland resident, formerly of Chicago’s Roseland area. Retired after 35 years of service as a machinist at Argonne National Research Laboratory. John was a Pullman Tech High School graduate and U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. Loving husband for 49 years of the late Gloria nee Panozzo. Devoted father of Lurita (Jeffrey) Garritano. Proud grandfather of Brandon and Sean Maicher. Son of the late Mary nee Buza and Samuel Vrabec. John was an active member of the Blue Army of Our Lady of Fatima and Tresche Conca Society. Resting at Panozzo Bros. Funeral Home, 530 W. 14th St. (U.S. Rt. 30, 3 blks E. of Western Ave.), Chicago Heights on Friday October 6th from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM.     I'm so sorry for your loss. When I lost a loved one in death a few years ago the scriptures Ps. 34:18 and Revelation 21:3,4 really helped me and my family. I hope you can find comfort in these difficult times. My thoughts and prayers will be with you.

    I’m so sorry for your the loss of your dear loved one. Soon death will be done away with according to God’s promises at Psalms 147:3 that provides a comforting reminder that, “He is healing the brokenhearted ones.”
