Andrew “Andy” S. Bobis, 75, passed away on September 22th at his home in Sevierville, Tennessee. A Chicago native, born January 22, 1943 to the late Dorothy nee Hack and Michael Bobis. Longtime resident of Chicago’s South Side, recently of Tennessee. Retired after 30+ years at Norfolk Southern Calumet Yard as a machinist. In his retirement, he worked multiple roles at Kroger Grocery, where he enjoyed visiting and joking with his customers. Loving husband of Deborah Bobis. Devoted father of Andrea Bobis of Minnesota; and cherished grandfather of Ariana Denning. Brother of Marion (William) Milos, Frances (Paul) Nuel, and Michael (Debbie) Bobis. Grandfather of Joseph (Kelli) Newsome, Tracy (Mike Tokich) Noorlag, Jennifer (Dan Rahn) Martinez and Jaime Newsome. Step grandfather of Nick (Jasmine) Joyce, Jason and Mateo Martinez, Chase Noorlag, Jacob, William, Richard and Bryn Newsome. He will be greatly missed by many lifelong friends and extended family. Andy will be fondly remembered for his amazingly positive outlook, his infectious laugh and encouraging everyone he met to “Have a nice day!” A memorial visitation at Panozzo Bros.
