Barbara Swanson nee Cushing. Age 96. Longtime Flossmoor resident. Graduate of Longwood Academy (formerly The Academy of our Lady High School. During the late 1940s worked as a ticket agent for United Airlines. During World War II was involved for the Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Services “WAVES” for the United States Navy. During the 1970s and 1980s Barbara worked as a Clerk at the Flossmoor Library and as a Personal Secretary for a Private Businessman. Wife for 51 years of the late Curtis E. Swanson. Mother of Joanne and Paul Swanson. Daughter of the late Clare nee Habing and John Cushing. Sister of Claire (late Charles) Differding and Virginia (late Edward) Wendt. Sister in-law of the late Lorraine Thayer. Aunt and friend of many. Family and friends will gather Saturday January 7,2023 at Infant Jesus of Prague Church, 1131 Douglas, Flossmoor for Memorial Mass 10:00 am. Interment was private at Assumption Cemetery, Glenwood.
