Betty Guzzo nee Grabarek, 91, passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2013. Betty was born in Chicago, Illinois to Ignatius Grabarek and Josephine nee Zazckowska. After owning her own grocery store and being employed by the South Chicago Savings Bank, Betty went to work for the Illinois Central Railroad, where she met the love of her life, Paul Guzzo. They were married on June 28, 1958. Paul and Betty retired from the railroad after lengthy careers and enjoyed many happy years together in retirement. Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband Paul, her parents, and siblings Joseph (Stephanie) Grabarek, Ceil (late Fritz) Mylnarczyk and two infant sisters. She is survived by her brother Harry (late Dolores) Grabarek of Las Vegas, Nevada, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and the pets she was devoted to in her final years. Aunt Betty, we will miss you. Resting at Panozzo Bros. Funeral Home, 530 W. 14th St (US Rt 30, 3 blks E of Western Ave), Chicago Heights on Tuesday October 15 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
