Carmen Enriqueta Farriols Catalan, age 87, passed away at home in Frankfort, Illinois, on February 10th, 2024. Carmen was the beloved mother of five children and is survived by them all: Montse' Durnavich (Anthony), Jordi, Luis (Debbie), Jose, and Esteve (Belinda). She is survived by 15 grandchildren, Justin Durnavich, Aaron (Tonanzin), Lea, Tanya, Octavio, Myla, Adonia and Julian Farriols, Carlie, Zoe, and Joseph (Sydney) Farriols, Esteve Jr. (Camila), Geordthi, Christopher (Kourtney), and Maria.  She is preceded in death by one granddaughter, Amber Farriols. She is survived by 13 great-grandchildren, Zyana, Alyssa and Sofia Barnes, Arianna Farriols, Abygail and Kamryn, Archibald, Miranda Farriols, Fidel Loya Jr and Carmen Loya, Lydia, Christopher Jr. and Lucas Farriols and Sylvia Farriols.  She is preceded in death by one great grandson, Rocco Farriols. She is also survived by three great great-grandchildren Madison and Alice Farriols and Graham Higgins. She is survived by one sister Isabel Catalan Ramon and niece Maria Cristina Hoarse of Argentina. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sylverio and Carmen and her brother's Pedro (Maria) and Sylverio (Josefina) and sisters Lydia and Margot and her former husband, Louis D. Farriols. Carmen led a very interesting life, having lived in Spain, Nicaragua, and the United States, and would tell stories of the old days and her adventures. Carmen loved her children and grandchildren and delighted in singing to the grandchildren when they were babies and caring for them as they continued to grow.  Carmen loved gardening and had a green thumb, other favorite pastimes were cooking, dancing, fishing, and playing poker.  She had a huge giving heart. Carmen was a tailor by profession and owned her own business, Carmen's Tailoring, in Park Forest, Illinois, for many years.  She specialized in alterations but was very proud of making a suit for Muhammed Ali and custom fitting him perfectly.
