A Bloom High School graduate, Mr. Helsel was a U.S. Coast Guard Veteran of WWII, and retired as a Corporal with the Illinois State Police after 30 years of duty. Member St. Agnes Church Knights of Columbus. Husband for 64 years of Emma nee Fiacco. Father of Pamela (Kevin) Hoffman and Nancey (Greg) Watts. Grandfather of Samantha and Scott Hoffman. Brother of Marion Helsel and the late Isabel Faso, Joseph, Richard, Robert, Donald, and Clarence Helsel. Brother in law of Guido Fiacco and the late John Fiacco. Beloved uncle, friend, and fellow Trooper of many. Resting at Panozzo Bros.
