Olympia Fields, Illinois
Christopher “Chris” A. Pellettiere. Age 67. Olympia Fields resident. Graduate of Infant Jesus of Prague Catholic Grammar School, Homewood-Flossmoor High School and Beloit College. Active parishioner of St. Veronica/Infant Jesus of Prague Church.
Chris worked for the Department of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms for more than 30 years, in Chicago, Florida and DC. Throughout his distinguished service, he held several key leadership roles, including SAC, Resource Management Branch; Chief, Office of Strategic Management; Chief, Field Management Staff; ASAC, Miami Field Division; Assistant to the Director and Acting Chief of Staff; and later served as a Data Strategy Officer at ATF Headquarters. Chris played an instrumental role in shaping ATF’s strategic direction over many years.
Chris's commitment to service went far beyond his official duties, dedicating his time, energy, talents and treasure to positively impact the lives of those around him. He spent much of his time in Virginia coaching and building up the community of athletes in the Special Olympics. Locally, he was instrumental in supporting the growth of Gifts from Liam, a cause close to his heart. His powerful baritone could be heard in the choir at IJP, the Apollo Chorus, and during numerous memorial events. From a young age, Chris shared his gift for entertainment, most recently portraying Rocky Lizardo at family gatherings and fundraising events, bringing joy to all who saw him perform.
Chris was generous without question. He and Sue opened their hearts and home to family, co-workers and friends. His first instinct was to help – to lend a hand, his truck or tractor, a feast, a dollar or a listening ear. He was a valued mentor, cherished friend and source of wisdom to many.
He was a devoted family man. Husband for 40 years of Susan “Sue” nee Petrusonis. Father of Nicholas “Nick ”Pellettiere. Son of the late Anita nee Schwaighart and Frank Pellettiere.
