Dawn E. Vander Luitgaren nee Heitner, age 88. Frankfort resident formerly of Olympia Fields and Calumet Park. Wife for 69 years of Edward Vander Luitgaren. Mother of Thomas (late Donna) Vander Luitgaren and the late Carol (Rev. Raymond) Scherbarth. Grandmother of Thomas and Brian Vander Lauitgaren, Laura Grooms, Jenny Hucek, Greg Scherbarth, Krista Bartley, and the late Michael Vander Luitgaren. Great grandmother of 17. Sister of the late Diane Schaffer, Ella May Mennenga and Alvin Heitner. Dawn worked over 20 years as Cafateria Manager and Cook for Calumet Park School District 132. She was proud of her work in support of the war effort during WWII, as a Welder and Riveter at J & J Tool Co. in Chicago, where she met and fell in love with her husband Ed. Resting at Panozzo Bros Funeral home, 530 W. 14th St. (US Rt. 30, 3 Blks E. of Western Ave) Chicago Heights on Tuesday Sept. 17th from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Lying in state Wednesday morning at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 6201 W. Vollmer Road, Matteson, from 10:00 AM until time of Funeral Services at 11:00 AM. Burial St. Paul Church Cemetery, Matteson.
