Dawn Marie Lopez nee Bassett, age 50, passed away suddenly Wednesday morning April 27^th. Longtime resident of Hammond’s Hessville area, formerly of Blue Island and Hazel Crest. Thornwood High School graduate. Dawn was presently employed by Horeshoe Casino in Hammond, and formerly had served many years as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant at Harstfield Village in Munster. Loving wife for 26 years of Larry M. Lopez. Devoted mother of Brandy (Ozzie Rodriguez-Rosales) Lopez and Cheyenne Lopez. Proud grandmother of Leilani Lopez and Liahna Rosales. Daughter of the Bernadette (nee O’Connor) Brooks and the late Floyd W. Bassett. Step-daughter of Robert Brooks Sr. Sister of Catherine Bassett, Patricia Pitrowski, Elizabeth Martinez, Bernadette Grisham and Floyd W. Bassett III. Beloved niece, cousin, aunt and friend of many. A celebration of Dawn’s life will be held on Monday May 2^nd from 3:00 PM until the time of 7:30 PM at Panozzo Bros.
