Bauer. Elmer W. Bauer Jr, CFD Retired, age 82. Crete resident formerly of Chicago’s Historic Pullman neighborhood. Retired in 1994 after a 27 year career as a Firefighter for the City of Chicago Fire Department, where he served as a Department Photographer as well as with the Fireboat Squad. U.S. Navy Veteran. Founding member of the Spaghetti O’s. Husband for 57 years of Joan nee Carli. Father of Doris Bauer-Schrementi and Carl (Cynthia) Bauer. Grandfather of Gino and Max Schrementi, Jason and Joseph Volk. Great grandfather of Kaitlyn Volk. Son of the late Madeline and Elmer W. Bauer Sr.Brother of the late Doris Marie, and Charles Schneider. Brother-in-law of Frank (Kathy) and Gerald (Diane) Carli. Beloved uncle of many nieces and nephews, and dear friend of many. Resting at Panozzo Bros. Funeral Home, 530 W. 14th St. (U.S. Rt. 30, 3 blks E. of Western Ave.), Chicago Heights on Thursday March 21st from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Funeral services Friday 10:00 AM.
