Frances Mary Beck (nee Schouten), age 79, Chicago Heights resident. beloved wife of 52 years to Joseph Beck, was called to everlasting life on September 4,2022, surrounded by her family. Fran’s family and faith were the focus of her life. She was the adored mother of Kathleen (Steve) Ruppert, Joe Beck, and Sarah (Brent) Miller, proud “Grams” to Matthew, Nate, Nora, James and Colleen, a loving sister to Barbara (Jim) Norris, James (Sue) Schouten and Margaret (Bob) Bojan and a wonderful sister-in law, aunt, cousin and a friend to many. She was born on September 24, 1942 to James and Catherine Schouten and grew up in the Roseland neighborhood of Chicago. She was a longtime parishioner of Infant Jesus of Prague. Fran always made others feel welcome and was known for quietly doing little things that had a great impact on others, making them feel appreciated and loved. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, hunting for bargains (often for thoughtful gifts for others) and spending time with her family. She took great care of her mother, opened her home to family and friends over the years who got to enjoy her hospitality, and will be remembered for her kindness and thoughtfulness. While we deeply mourn her passing, we are grateful for the example she set and for the love and care of family and friends during this time. Resting at Panozzo Bros.
