Guido “Skeezix” Markionni age 93. Lifelong Chicago Heights resident and retired educator. Survived by sons Robert and Nick (Jeannie), granddaughter Isabelle, and many nieces, nephews and friends. Preceeded by his wife of 55 years Frances nee D’Amico in 2009. Son of the late Nick and Rafaela Marchionna, brother of the late Laura Paciorek, Irma “Mimi” Marchionna, Zenick Markionni and Art Marks. U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of WWII. After the war, graduated from Illinois State University where he lettered in both football and golf, and later received a master’s degree from Loyola University. “Skee” spent over 30 years as a math teacher, P.E. teacher and principal in Chicago Heights School District 170, retiring in 1983. Member of the Catholic War Veterans Post #1060 (Past Commander) and American Legion Post #131. A three sport athlete at Bloom High School, he worked over 20 years coaching baseball and basketball for Chicago Heights Park District. “Skee” was still an avid golfer and sports fan. Resting at Panozzo Bros. Funeral Home, 530 W. 14th St. (US Rte 30, 3 blks E. of Western Ave.), Chicago Heights on Friday November 29th from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral Saturday 9:15 AM to San Rocco Oratory, 315 East 22nd St., Chicago Heights with mass at 10:00 AM. Interment Assumption Cemetery, Glenwood.
