James Anthony Jurjevic age 72. Longtime Chicago Heights resident formerly of Hegewisch passed away peacefully Tuesday August 6th with his family at his side. Husband for 42 years of Mary Caffarelli Jurjevic. Father of Gerard (Carol) Cioffi of Schererville, IN, Fred (Dawn) Cioffi of Homewood, Ginger (Brian) Carragher of Naperville and Tina Rozek of Lowell, IN. Grandfather of Colleen, Danielle, Meredith, Meagan and James Cioffi, Mary Kate, Clare, Grace and Anna Carragher, John, Rickie and Rocco Sodomire, Lindsey Rozek and David Ray. Great grandfather of three. Son of the late Elizabeth Oblock and John S. Jurjevic. Brother of Marvin (Barbara) Jurjevic of Highland, IN and the late Rosemarie Kuhn. Beloved uncle of many, he was preceeded in death by his niece Joette Sullivan. Jim retired in 2002 as a General Foreman for Republic/LTV Steel after 42 years of service. U.S. Army Veteran/7th Calvary-Vietnam. Member of VFW Stanley Sutka Post #5414, American Legion Jackson Park Post #0555 and the Highland Elks Club. After retiring, Jim pursued his passion for golf, and enjoyed his work as a Doorman for the Ameristar/Resorts Casino Hotel. Resting at Panozzo Bros. Funeral Home, 530 W. 14th St. (U.S. Rt. 30, 3 blks E. of Western Ave.), Chicago Heights on Friday August 9th from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
