James P. Mangrum Sr. age 69. Longtime Thornton resident. Husband for 45 years of Claudia nee Jung. Father of James B. (Melissa) Mangrum and Mandy (Kris) Buckman. Loving “Papa” to his grandchildren Will and Charlie Mangrum and Jude Buckman. Son of the late Avery Thomas Mangrum and Mary nee Baron. Brother of Thomas Mangrum, Susan Mangrum, Barbara Mangrum, Carol Lee, Patricia Schuessler and the late Mary Ann Mangrum. A Production Quality Inspector, he had worked for Allis-Chalmers, Morrison Timing Screw and Stan Rail. An avid bowler and member of the “Beatniks Conkney” theatre group. Resting at Panozzo Bros. Funeral Home, 530 W. 14th St. (U.S. Rt 30, 3 blks E. of Western Ave.), Chicago Heights on Wednesday March 20th from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Body will lie in state on Thursday morning from 9:00 AM until time of funeral service 10:00 AM at St. John Lutheran Church, 4247 W. 183rd St., Country Club Hills.
