Joseph G. Yarina, age 94. Lifelong resident of Yorktown Heights, and Yonkers, NY, recently of Chicago. Retired Police Office/Detective for the City of Yonkers, NY. US Army Veteran of WW II. After retirement, Joe worked “partime” in security at the Yonkers Raceway for 30 years. He was the oldest acting member/volunteer of the (PAL) Police Athletic League and enjoyed his long relationship with the YMCA where was an avid handball and racquetball players. He had a passion for golf, pinochle and most of all his four grandchildren and two beautifull granddaughters. He is survived by his wife of 66 years Anne nee Bohac. Father of Stephen (Kathy) Yarina. Grandfather of Jeff Allison, Emily and Brent. Great grandfather of Riannon and Maeve. Brother of Mable and Amy. Beloved friend and fellow police office of many. Visitation Monday February 17th from 1:00 PM until time of funeral mass 3:00 PM at Holy Name Cathedral, 735 N. State St., Chicago. Burial will take place at a later date.
