Longtime Chicago Heights recently of Frankfort

Kelo H. Panici, age 81. Frankfort resident formerly of Crete, born and raised in Chicago Heights. Bloom High School graduate. U.S. Army Veteran. From 1968 until 1989, he operated the 3-Star tavern and restaurant in “The Hill” neighborhood of Chicago Heights, which had been founded by his father Caesar and mother Josephine in 1937. Husband for 48 years of Celeste nee Petrarca. Father of Kelo Panici and Juliana (Eric) Weiss. Devoted “Papa” to his granddaughters Kayla and Reese. Brother of Charles (late Dolores), Phyllis (Donald) Kempen, and the late Joseph and Philip (Mary Ellen) Panici. Beloved uncle, cousin and dear friend of many. Kelo’s true passion was that of design and construction. He enjoyed his years working as project superintendent for the Chicago Heights Construction Company. Engaging and a true gentleman, Kelo will be dearly missed by all fortunate to have known him. Resting at Panozzo Bros. Funeral Home, 530 W. 14th St. (U.S. Rt. 30, 3 blks E. of Western Ave) Chicago Heights on Sunday April 23rd, from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Funeral services Monday morning 11:00 AM.
