Louis P. Mauro, age 88. Lifelong Chicago Heights resident. A licensed Barber since 1954, Louie, along with his brother Tony, owned and operated the Twin Parks Barber Shop in Richton Park for 54 years. A U.S. Army Veteran of WWII, he served at both the invasion of Normandy as well as the Battle of the Bulge, and was a Purple Heart Medal recipient. Husband of the late Dolores “Dee” Mauro. Father of Judi Amico, Nancy and Patty Mauro. Grandfather of Christopher Fitzgerald and Clinton (Hannah) Compton. Great grandfather of Zachary, Hattie Jane and Molly Ann. Brother of the late Jimmy and Tony (late Wanda) Mauro. Beloved uncle of Peter, Ronnie and Janet Mauro. Dear friend of many. Resting at Panozzo Bros. Funeral Home, 530 W. 14th St. (U.S. Rt 30, 3 blks E. of Western Ave.), Chicago Heights on Monday January 7th from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral services Tuesday morning 11:00 AM.
