Marlene R. “Mickie” Roy nee Gombert age 77, passed away Oct 22nd. Longtime Homewood resident formerly of Chicago’s Roseland neighborhood. Fenger High School graduate class of 1953. She was a valued employee of Allstate Insurance Company for 21 years, and the first women to hold the position of Catostrophic Medical Claims Adjuster. Longtime Board member and former President of Riverdale School District 133. Wife for 50 years of the late John D. “J.R.” Roy. Mother of Jeff Guimont, Susan (Edward) Domagal and Mary (Matt) Zagorski. Stepmother of John J. (Lou) Roy and Susan (late Walter) Rodzen. Grandmother of 14. Great grandmother of 12. Daughter of Ruth nee Van Vlymen and the late Peter Gombert. Sister of Linda (Robert) Todd and the late Peter (Shirley) Gombert. Beloved aunt and dear friend of many. Mickie’s generous nature and sense of loyalty and integrity will be fondly remembered by those fortunate to have known her. Resting at Panozzo Bros. Funeral Home, 530 W. 14th St. (U.S. Rt. 30, 3 blks E. of Western Ave.), Chicago Heights on Friday October 25th from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Funeral services Saturday 11:00 AM.
