Matthew A. “Mateo” Salin. Age 73. Longtime Homewood and Chicago Heights resident, formerly of Chicago’s Roseland Neighborhood. Graduate of St Anthony Catholic Grammar School and St Willibrord High School. After high school Matt joined his father Armand working and running the family store Roseland Auto Parts on 117th and Michigan Avenue in Chicago’s Roseland Neighborhood until its closing in 2005. Matt then partnered with his brother Armand in forming the wholesale auto parts M & A Supply in East Hazel Crest up until currently. Matt always enjoyed the time he spent with his family and friends over spirit s and a meal. Father of Matthew A. Salin Jr, Ryan (Gina) and the late Michelle Salin. Grandfather of Jase, Misha, and Rowan Salin. Son of the late Antoinette nee Rago and Armand Salin. Brother of Arlene, Steven (Norma) and Thomas (Susan) Salin, Debra Mucha, the late Nancy, Armand and John Salin. Uncle of many nieces and nephews. Friend of many. Longtime devoted companion, friend and former husband of Adrienne Salin nee Piejko. Memorial visitation at Panozzo Bros. Funeral Home, 530 West 14th Street (US Rt 30, 3 blks E of Western Ave), Chicago Heights on Saturday February 7, 2026 from 1:00 pm until time of Memorial Services 4:00 pm. Interment private.
