Raymond J. Jerz, age 76. Lifelong Chicago Heights resident. Retired Foremen for Vulcan Tube. U.S. Army Veteran. Known as “Hard Rock”, he was a well known jockey at Balmoral and Washington Park race tracks. Husband for 52 years of the late Carmella nee Amadio. Father of Kenneth Jerz and Jacqueline (Cesare) Ruggeri. Devoted “Papa” of Anthony and Sophia Ruggeri. Brother of Gertrude (late Gene) Kudlaty and the late John Jerz. Brother in law of Mary (late Michael) Basile and the late Madeline (Jerry) Cortez, Jack and Anthony Amadio. Beloved uncle and dear friend of many. Resting at Panozzo Bros. Funeral Home, 530 W. 14th St (US Rt. 30, 3 Blks E. of Western Ave) Chicago Heights on Friday January 4th from 3:00 PM until time of funeral services at 7:30 PM. Burial will be private.
