Violet Zapchenk nee Malis age 89.  Longtime Steger resident formerly of Riverdale.  Wife for 60 years of the late Thomas Zapchenk Sr.  Mother of Thomas Jr. (Venessa) Zapchenk.  Grandmother of Eric (Danielle) Zapchenk and Michele Zapchenk. Great grandmother of Edie Lynn and Reid Thomas Zapchenk. Preceeded in death by four sisters and one brother. Along with her late husband, Violet owned and operated Tom’s Grocery in Riverdale and Tom’s Beer Barn in Chicago Heights. Visitation at St. James Catholic Church, 22400 S.
