Retired Postal Carrier and Supervisor after 35 years of service from the United States Post Office in Park Forest. Albert enjoyed working in his garden. Husband for 40 years of Susan nee Weber. Father of Paul Laya, Brian (fiancé Ashley Hendricks) Laya and Laurie (Joseph Ahlm) Laya. Grandfather of Lucas and Penelope Laya, Wynter and Wyatt Lynum. Son of the late Marilyn nee Nichols and Leonard Laya. Brother of Steven (Colleen) Laya. Brother-in-law of Daniel Weber, Sheila Bosnak and Maureen (Gary) Geraci. Uncle and friend of many. Resting at Panozzo Bros. Funeral Home, 530 West 14th Street (US Rt 30, 3 blks E of Western Ave), Chicago Heights on Saturday January 25, 2025 from 12 Noon until time of Funeral Services 4:00 PM. So sorry (and shocked) to hear of Al's passing. I remember the "Running Mailman" always had a huge smile on his face-- except when the ref made a bad call. I wish peace to his family.
