Armand W. Salin, age 61, passed away Monday morning Jan. 2nd at his longtime home in Homewood after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. Born and raised in his beloved Roseland and St. Anthony Parish, Armand was all things “Bumtown,” the nickname given to the South Side neighborhood. From his yearly custom Bumtown T-shirts to his enthusiastic promotion of all church, school and community reunions, Armand honored his Italian heritage and neighborhood proudly. He was a graduate of St. Anthony Grammar School and St. Willibrord High School. Armand grew up around the family-owned Roseland Auto Parts business. Along with his brother, Matt, he was the longtime proprietor of M & A Supply in East Hazel Crest. Devoted father of Armand and Brittany. Son of the late Antoinette nee Rago and Armand Salin. Beloved brother of Arlene, Nancy, Matthew, Steven, Deborah Mucha, Thomas and John. Loving “Uncle Armand” of Matt Jr., Ryan, Kim, Rachel, Kayli and Tommy and the late Michelle. Friend and former husband of Julie nee Swanson. Cousin and dear friend of many. Resting at Panozzo Bros. Funeral Home, 530 W. 14th St. (U.S. Rt. 30, 3 blks E. of Western Ave.), Chicago Heights on Sunday January 8th from 12 Noon to 8:00 PM. Lying in state Monday morning at Living Springs Christian Church, 19051 S. Halsted St., Glenwood from 9:00 AM until time of funeral services at 10:00 AM.
