Born in Vicenza, Province of Vicenza, Italy, came to the United States in 1963 with his family settling in Chicago’s Roseland Neighborhood. Graduate of Mendel Catholic High School Class of 1966. Received his Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish from University of Illinois Chicago. Received his Doctorate in Education from Nova University. Retired after 35 years of service in Administration for the Chicago Public Schools. Former member of the Veneti nel Mondo Chicago. Giacomo was proud of his Italian heritage and also appreciated all cultures of life and art. Son of the late Edda nee Piccoli and Gaetano Mancuso. Brother of Massimo (Sandra) Mancuso and the late Mauro (Marianne) Mancuso. Uncle of Michael (Katie) Mancuso and Giancarlo Mancuso. Great uncle of Emily and Anthony Mancuso. Dearest companion of Mary Ellen Caron. Cousin and friend of many. Services were private. I have been very fortunate to have known Giacomo. We spent a lot of time together traveling all over Chicago to many new and existing CPS schools ... including lunches at various Italian restaurants! He was a friend and truly wonderful and kind person to know.
Giacomo will be missed greatly...
