Catherine M. “Kay” Bushong nee Angellotti. Age 93. Lifelong Chicago Heights resident and St. Paul Lutheran Church member. Graduate of Bloom High School. Worked as a Secretary at Kimble Glass and Salesclerk at Kline’s Department Store. Active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church/ School as a room mother, librarian, school secretary, church trustee and groundskeeper. Wife for 52 years of the late Edward Bushong. Mother of Jeffery (Judy) Bushong, Gailene Cowger and Debbi Harden. Grandmother of Erin (Sal) Arroyo, Sara (Chris) Alesandrini, Abby (Brad) Davis, Adam (Evonne) Harden, Erica Middleton, Kyle (Bridget) Harden and the late Michael Bushong. Great grandmother of Gianna and Lucia Bushong, Adrian and Elena Arroyo, Eli and Alexandra Alesandrini, Kayla and Joselyn Harden, Robbie and Sebastian Middleton, Dominic Esposito, Lucca and Audrey Harden. Daughter of the late Agnes nee Mandelkow and Armand Angellotti. Sister of the late Attillio (late Toni) Angellotti, Julia (late Sam) Scrementi and William Angellotti. Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Catherine was a devout Chrisian and volunteered 45 years at St. Paul’s Lutheran School on 10th and Ashland in Chicago Heights. You could always find her at St. Paul’s planting, weeding and watering the flowers to beautify the church and school. For many years she helped brides, and their bridal parties get ready before walking down the aisle.
She was an avid Cubs fan and she and Ed would travel to various cities to watch the Cubs play.
Kay loved all things Christmas, and you could drive past their house on Ashland Avenue and enjoy their beautiful holiday display of lights inside and out. She loved to entertain friends and family at their annual holiday open house.
Kay touched many lives and certainly made a difference to those she knew and loved. Most important to her were her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren whom she shared her love of life and caring for others.
Resting at Panozzo Bros. Funeral Home, 530 W 14th St (US Rt 30, 3 blks E of Western Ave), Chicago Heights on Monday September 12, 2022 from 9:00 am until time of funeral services 12:00 noon. Jeff, Gailene and Debbi, Seeing your Mom's face has always reminded me of Sunday School, Librarian and anything with St. Paul's. She was definitely God's helper and an inspiration for all of us. In my 60-something years at St. Paul's I had never see her angry or say anything negative about anyone or anything. No one could ever hold a candle to her. She will be missed, as she has left her mark on so many people. I sure did Love this angel that God has called home to be with him. Our deepest sympathy to all of you. Kay was more than the librarian for the children I taught. She was a great friend and we shared a lot of laughs and good times together. I will always remember visiting her house to see her decorations at Christmas and having "P" picnics at her house. She was a great lady and I will miss her.

Our condolences go out to all of you. We have so many nice memories from St. Paul's of Mrs. Bushong, whether she was working in the library or tending to the landscaping. Your mom's dedication and kindness will always be remembered and meant so much to all of us.
