Michael S. Nemeth, 76, born January 1, 1945, passed away November 29, 2021 after a long courageous battle with cancer. A veteran of US Army Special Forces, 1965-1969, he is survived by his wife of 44 years, Nella Maria Nemeth (Sartoris), preceded in death by his father Julius Nemeth (1959), mother Stephanie Nemeth (Kocan) (2003), brother Anthony (1968, Vietnam), and brother Gerald (2020), survived by aunt Elsie Mae Nemeth, godchild Mia Jennings (Bulf) and numerous cousins. Michael, a former resident of Pullman in Chicago and Crete Illinois, was a graduate of CVS, 1963, where as an honor student he majored in mechanical drafting and played football. He attended Adams State College.  A member of IBEW #134 he worked as an electrician for Illinois Bell, Pullman Standard, Intecom (Wang) and Chicago Transit Authority. Retired 6 years as inspector from CTA, Michael continued to pursue his ardent avocation of planting and nurturing a thousand trees and shrubs. He enjoyed his life as a true free spirit, living a modest life, devoted to his wife. 
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society. 
Resting at Panozzo Bros. Funeral Home, 530 W 14th St (US Rt 30, 3 blks E of Western Ave), Chicago Heights on Thursday December 2, 2021 from 10:00 am until time of funeral service 1:30 pm. Interment Assumption Cemetery, Glenwood. Info 708-481-9230 and panozzobros.com.
