Robert N. Heyburn, MD, age 82. Longtime Flossmoor resident, passed away July 11th. Born and raised in Cuyahoga Falls, OH, he attended Miami of Ohio University and Northwestern University Medical School, serving the Chicago’s South Suburbs in Obstetrics and Gynecology for over 30 years. Upon retirement from his medical practice, Dr. Heyburn served the South Suburban-Chicago Region as a Physician Champion for Franciscan St. James Health. U.S. Air Force Veteran. Husband for 55 years of Marcia nee Kaminskas. Father of Michael (Giovanna) Heyburn, Mary Kay (David) Thompson, Therese (Wes) Morgenthaler and Kevin (Mari) Heyburn. Grandfather of Daniel (Kiana), Joel, Juliana, and Rebekah Thompson, Connor and Olivia Morgenthaler, Taylor, R.J. and Mia Heyburn. Proud great grandfather of “The Greats” Zechariah, Daniel and David Thompson. Brother of the late George (late Beverly) Heyburn. Beloved uncle, dear friend and colleague of many. Bob’s passions were woodworking, the Miami of Ohio Redskins and his beloved family. Resting at Panozzo Bros. Funeral Home, 530 W. 14th St. (U.S. Rt. 30, 3 blks E. of Western Ave.), Chicago Heights on Sunday July 17th from 1:00 PM until time of services at 5:00 PM. Committal services with Military Honors will be held Monday July 18th, at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL at 12:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in Bob’s name to Akron YMCA, Camp Y Noah, Bob and George Heyburn Youth Scholarship Fund, 50 S. Main St., Akron, OH 44308.
