Theresa "Tess" Claxton - 24

Steger, Illinois

Theresa “Tess” Claxton. Age 24. Lifelong Steger resident. Graduate of St Agnes Catholic Grammar School, Illinois Lutheran High School, and received her Associates Degree in MultiMedia Arts and a Certificate of Photography from Prairie State College. Daughter of Jackie (nee Christie) and Matt Claxton. Sister of Tony Claxton. Granddaughter of Tom & Ellen (nee Batterman) Christie and Dennis & Pat (nee Kapocius) Claxton. Niece of Shelly (Fred) Knap, Peter Claxton, Suzy (Don) Karas, Timmy (Spencer) Claxton, Andy (Shawna) Claxton, Chuck (Alice) Claxton, and Terry (Jasz) Claxton. Goddaughter to Dan Christie and Joey Cormican. Countless cousins and “framily”, the friends she chose as family.

Tess loved her dogs, coloring, taking pictures, singing at the top of her lungs while nobody was home, sending video messages to her girls, binge watching TV shows and movies, and of course anything Disney. She loved her weekly shopping trips with her Gram, hangin’ out with Buddy, and going out for ice cream or Canes Chicken. Tess loved making t-shirt designs and stickers on her Cricut. Her favorite thing ever was laughing before, during, and after a good “knee slapper”. She had a smile that lit up a room, an unbelievably infectious laugh, and a sparkle in her eyes that made the brightest stars look dim. Tess was the strongest and most courageous person her parents and brother knew. Tess brought much joy to everyone and will be dearly missed but never forgotten. For when the wind blows strong, it is Tess running free. When the sun is shining down upon you, it is Tess showering you with love. When the rain falls steady, it is Tess giving us our tears back. For she is now in a better place with no pain, all peace. Second star to the right and straight on til morning our sweet Tess.

I was so saddened to hear the news about your daughter.  It sounds like she was an angel and touched all those around her.  I am deeply sorry for your loss.  My family will keep her and all of your family in our prayers in this difficult time.  May she rest in peace in peace in the arms of Jesus.

Our hearts are broken. Beautiful Tess, inside and out, who is loved by everyone who was fortunate enough to meet her; growing up in an amazing family every child dreams of. God's baptismal promise is one of every happiness in Heaven. Our thoughts, prayers, and love are with Tess's  family.
