Albert L. Simnick. Age 86. Dyer, Indiana resident formerly of Dolton. Retired after 49.5 years from the Rock Island Railroad as a yardman in freight and Senior Train Master for the Rock Island Metra Line. Husband for 67 years of Gayle nee Grosskurth. Father of Brian, Christopher (Rick Rhinehart), Mary Ann, Martha (Jack) Dal Santo, Peter, Catherine and the late Keith and David Simnick. Grandfather of Keith Brown, Albert Dal Santo, Christina Dal Santo, and Jack Dal Santo Jr. Great grandfather of Ayden Brown. Son of the late Marie nee Keisler and Albert Simnick. Brother of William (late Sharon) and the late Robert (Norma), Patricia (Jake) Oudshoorn and Grace Schultz. Uncle and friend of many. Resting at Panozzo Bros. Funeral Home, 530 W 14th St (US Rt 30, 3 blks E of Western Ave), Chicago Heights on Monday July 12, 2021 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. DAD; I always said I LOVE YOU: but I should have said more…like: Thank you for helping me Thank you for caring for me Thank you for being there for me Thank you for taking time with me Thank you for playing with me Thank you for being such a hard worker and providing for me Thank you for taking me on all those great camping trips all over the country Thank you for loving and taking care of my mom Thank you for the care and kindness you showed towards all Thank you for being so self-sacrificing Thank you for raising me to put others first So I guess what I want to say to you Dad is: THANK YOU FOR LOVING ME!!!!

Mr. Simnick was a kind and and loving man who accepted me for who I was and appreciated what I offered. The world has lost a beautiful soul and I am grateful for the time we were able to spend together. Rest In Peace until we meet again.
