Ann Marie Donahue - 88

Orland Park, Illinois

Ann Marie Donahue, Sept. 16, 1936 – Aug. 5, 2024

Ann Marie Donahue, daughter of Costie and Julia Lupo, sister of John Lupo, was a woman of profound principle, generosity, humor, integrity, and faith. She married the love of her life, Ed Donahue, on a 90°day in early May 1959, with whom she raised their four beloved children, Timothy, Daniel, David and Sharon. One of the first women to graduate from Lewis University in 1957, Ann was a teacher for many years.

Ann was an exceptionally strong woman, enjoying life in the face of the adversity she struggled through. She never let her physical limitations stop her from living a life of happiness, full of live jazz and travels around the country in their pop-up camper.

Grandmother to 8, Ann was her grandkids’ #1 fan. From frying them donut holes on Saturday mornings to teaching them how to properly darn a sock, Grandma Donahue exemplified how to live a life of true joy, a life defined by unconditional love for her family.

Ann was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother and fierce friend. She lived a wonderful life and will be missed by all who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace, jitterbugging at long last with her sweetheart.
