Jay Thrall. Age 68. Lifelong Flossmoor resident. Graduate of Homewood-Flossmoor High School Class of 1975. Attended Western Illinois University and University of Denver. Worked his entire life at the family business Thrall Enterprises starting at Thrall Car Company in Chicago Heights and Operations Manager for the past 40 years at Nazdar. Longtime member of Olympia Fields Country Club. Jay enjoyed spending his free time with family, friends and on the golf course. Husband for 43 years of Polly nee Korkos. Father of Luke Thrall, Naomi (Mark) Cochrane, Jeremiah (Stephanie) Thrall and Adam Thrall. Grandfather of Finley and Lyla Cochrane, Vanessa and Monroe Thrall. Son of the late Marilyn “Lynn” nee Feil and Jerome “Jerry” Thrall. Brother of Jeff (Suzi) Thrall, Randy (Judy Gorman) Thrall, Brooke Thrall, Chris (Cynthia) Thrall and Jan (Michael) Mazza. Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Friend of many. Resting at Panozzo Bros. Funeral Home, 530 W 14th Street (US Rt 30, 3 blks E of Western Ave), Chicago Heights on Sunday February 18, 2024 from 12:00 Noon until 7:00 pm. Services at funeral home Monday February 19, 2024 11:00 am. Interment private. To the Thrall family, My sincere condolences to your family. I had the pleasure of working with Jay for the past 20 years and am fortunate to have gotten to know him personally. His Jayisms always made me smile. He always made a point to ask me about my family, my kids, and I know how proud he was of his family. Much love to your family.

I will miss Jay. He was one of those rare people that was alive with excitement. He was glad to see you and you knew it. I look forward to the day when I pass the disbelief and grief and move onto having my first thoughts of Jay being his love of life and how well he spread that love. What a shock it was to hear about Jay. I thought of Jay as a good friend and someone who always had my back. He was great to joke around with and will be greatly missed.

I still can't believe that this has happened. I am heartbroken. I considered Jay a friend. He was a good man. I will miss working with him. He always made me laugh. He would always tell me to drink more water and stop drinking Mountain Dew. This just showed what kind of man he was. He cared about all of us at Nazdar. He will be greatly missed. My deepest sympathy to his family.
