Andrea and I were sorority sisters at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana and I did not see her again after she graduated and that, I regret. She was a few years ahead of me and maybe, because of that, I'd watch and learn about life, career plans, graduate school, social protocol, etc. from watching Andrea and others ahead of me in school. We bonded a bit over our shared cultural heritage and she was memorable! Andrea was calm and rational, sympathetic but logical with a warm smile and reassuring demeanor. She was surely a comfort for the people and animals she served. It is comforting to me she had people who loved and appreciated her. I regret this tribute is late but heartfelt.

Dr Wurzer was the most loving, compassionate vet for our three dogs. Her calm and sweet demeanor made our pups feel so loved. I was saddened to learn of Dr Wurzer's passing, but she can now run free with all the animals she cared for who crossed the rainbow bridge before her. My condolences to her family.

I enjoyed discussing interesting and complex medical cases with Dr. Wurzer. It was obvious that she cared about her patients and their owners. My deepest condolences to her family.

So very sorry to hear about Andrea's death. I enjoyed working for her nearly ten years. She was a very kind and giving person. Her mom and dad were just as kind and caring. The animal kingdom will miss her dearly! I will also miss her. She was just a wonderful person. My deepest condolences to Tipper.

For 60 years we took our dogs to the Chicago Heights Animal Hospital. First, to Dr. Wurzer, Dr. Andrea Wurzer's father. We saw Dr. Andrea Wurzer blossom from a young veterinarian to a wise, brilliant and compassionate vet. Dr. Andrea would personally call to check on how our dogs were doing a few days after visits. We once boarded a dog who was so distraught that she wouldn't eat. Dr. Wurzer brought her a hamburger to get her to eat. She will be missed so much.

Your Loving Cousins from Germany

The news of Andrea's passing came as a shock to all of us, her German cousins of the Wurzer family. We will always cherish the fond memories of the many gorgious, blithe holidays that we were so fortunate to be able to spend together in Bavaria, back in our childhood. Her unexpected passing has left us deeply saddened. She will always remain in our hearts. Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to Tip, Ralph and everyone who loved her. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and Andrea. I, along with my family are so very sorry to hear about Dr. Wurzer. She was our family vet forever! I remember one of my dogs had cancer, multiple myoloma. She mentioned we could try chemo to see how it goes. I decided to try it only if it gave him a good quality of life. Duke was very smart and wouldn't get out of the car since he often need blood drawn. Dr Wurzer climbed in the back of my car to draw his blood! How many Vets would do that? He lived a good quality of life for another 1 1/2 years. When we had to put him down she said thank you for giving him a couple of years more with a good quality of life! God Bless you Dr Wurzer and I'm sure there are many of our pets that are surrounding you in Heaven Sharon Minelli & Family

It was with great sadness that we learned of Dr. Wurzers passing today from her former employee Pat Summers. Dr. Wurzer was always kind and caring for all of my cats when we lived in the area. And was especially helpful to me when I started breeding and showing them. Everyone needs a knowledgeable and dependable Vet during such times. When we moved away I never quite found a Vet who had her level of compassion and missed that. My deepest condolences to her family And friends. May her memory always be a blessing to you.
