Frederick Fortune Brazzale, age 81, passed away December 11, 2017. Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 27 years, Rebecca F. Brazzale (Lungaro), his parents, Frederick F. Brazzale I and Catherine Brazzale (Bortoli), in-laws, Anthony and Rose (Basile) Lungaro, and his grandchildren Declan Ahearn and Martin Hunt. Survived by his sister Edith Berner (James), brother William Brazzale (Beanie), brother and sisters-in-law, Joan Galullo (late James), Anthony LaBanca (late Josephine), Jacqueline Lungaro (late Pascal), Antoinette Bonato (Ronald). His children Annette Brazzale, Stephen Brazzale (Kathleen), Anthony Brazzale (Mary), Christopher Brazzale (Loretta), William Brazzale (Heather), Catherine Dutra (Robert), Rose Hunt (Gregory), AnneMarie Ahearn (Timothy), and Joseph Brazzale (Mary). Also survived by 43 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Frederick, born September 22, 1936 in Chicago, IL, was a resident of Cedar Lake, IN, for 10 years, of Calumet City, IL, for 35 years, and Roseland, Chicago, IL preceding that. He proudly served America as a US Marine, 1956-1962. He was a Third Order Carmelite and the custodian for Our Lady of Fatima, Chicago Archdiocese, for 29 years (1978-2007). Frederick was a very devout husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who loved being a servant of our Lord and the Catholic Church with a true devotion to our Lady of Fatima. Formerly employed in banking at Talman, LaSalle and BMO. His hobbies included constructing models and spending time with his family. His heart, love, and smile will surely be missed. Visitation Thursday December 14th from 3-8 p.m. at Elmwood Chapel, 9931 Lincoln Plaza Way, Cedar Lake, IN. Carmelite Rosary at 3:00 pm and rosary at 7:00 pm. Family and friends will meet Friday at St. James the Greater Church, 22400 Torrence Ave., Sauk Village. Viewing 9:00 AM until time of funeral mass at 10:00 AM. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City.
