Received her GED and then attended Prairie State College where she received her Teacher’s Certificate. Worked over 40 years as a Kindergarten Teacher at Cornerstone Christian School in South Chicago Heights. Mother of B.J. (Cathy) Perez and Michelle (Manny) Ortiz. Grandmother of Jake Perez, Olivia (fiancé Jackson Kent) Perez and Izzy Ortiz. Daughter of Dorothy nee Austin and the late Royce Norris Sr. Sister of Royce (Pat) Norris Jr and the late George Norris, Robert Norris and Evan Lyon. Aunt and friend of many. Memorial visitation at Panozzo Bros. Funeral Home, 530 West 14th Street (US Rt 30, 3 blks E of Western Ave), Chicago Heights on Monday, October 26, 2026 from 5:00 pm until time of Memorial Service 8:00 pm. Burial private. My heartfelt condolences to Georgette’s family. Georgette and I had been neighbors my entire life. She was one of the kindest, most caring and empathetic people I have ever known. After the passing of my father earlier this year, we became closer than ever. I’ll miss walking next door, reminiscing about old memories and watching game shows with her. I wish that I had been given the opportunity to attend her funeral and honor her life in person. She meant so much to me and will forever hold a special place in my heart. Rest peacefully, Georgette. You and Milton are now reunited, watching over from above. ❤️

Dear Michelle, BJ, and family, Your mom was part of the fabric of Cornerstone Christian School. Giving 40 years of her life to teaching children is a beautiful legacy to leave behind. She had an incredible influence on our daughter and family. May you be filled with joy and comfort as you think of her and celebrate her life. Thank you for sharing her with us. The Ken Rose Family.

Michelle Honey, I am so sorry for your loss and I will be praying for you and your family’s ,for comfort. Your mother was a very sweet person. She always had a kind, sweet spirit flowing from her. I cherish the moments that I spented with her.Her smile always said she cared about you. She was a sweet giving person and she gave a lot to her little kids in school with that spirit. The kids learned about the love of Jesus through her . i’m sure her treasure box in heaven is totally full. She is a sweet soul that I know will be missed.
