Javier Manuel Gonzalez 7/3/47 - 6/16/26 Javier Manuel "Mey" Gonzalez. Age 78. Longtime resident of Chicago’s Roseland Neighborhood. Passed away after a short illness. Javier was born in Jalisco, Mexico, the 2nd of eleven children born to Francisco and Socorro Gonzalez. He came to the United States in 1973 after the death of his first wife, Maria Concepcion. He met and married his second wife, also named Concepcion, in 1975. He worked at several local businesses, including Sherwin Williams and Archer Wire Company, retiring in 2008. Javier was preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Socorro, his first wife Maria Concepcion, and his brother Benjamin. He is survived by Concepcion, his wife of 50 years, daughter: Nancy (Garbiel) Villa, sons: Manuel and Juan (Stephanie) Gonzalez, stepson: Robert (Leeann) Rodriguez, and grandchildren: Alexander (fiancée Caitlyn) and Stephanie Rodriguez, Elena and Elijah Gonzalez. Javier survives nine siblings and their families. Javier was a quiet man who showed his love by his acts of service to his family. He will be greatly missed.
