Jean Formentini - 95

Jean Marie Formentini, age 95, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2025, in Evanston, Illinois. 

Born on February 22, 1930, in Chicago Heights, Illinois, Jean was a lifelong resident of the state she loved. She attended the Illinois School for the Visually Impaired in Jacksonville, where she laid the foundation for a life marked by resilience and independence.

Jean dedicated many years of her working life to Savoia's Restaurant in Chicago Heights. Her presence there became a familiar and cherished part of the community fabric, where she contributed with dedication and warmth.

A devout Catholic throughout her life, Jean was deeply involved in her faith community. She regularly attended services and found joy and purpose in singing with the St. Celia Choir at St. Rocco Church in Chicago Heights. Her voice was a vibrant part of worship and celebration for many years.

Jean was known for her outgoing nature and active lifestyle. She embraced life with enthusiasm and left a lasting impression on those around her through her spirited personality and enduring strength.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Serafino Formentini and Rose nee Renda; her brothers Joseph (Marie) Formentini and Serafino (late Carol) Formentini Jr.; and her sister JoAnn (late Jimmy) Massacci. Jean is lovingly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews who carry forward her memory.

May Jean’s legacy of faith, vitality, and perseverance continue to inspire all who knew her.
