Joseph “Joe” Calderone. Age 87. New Lenox resident, formerly of South Holland, Thornton and Chicago’s Roseland and Historic Pullman Neighborhood. Graduate of Pullman Grammar School and Chicago Vocational School “C.V.S” Class of 1956. Received his Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Supervision from Purdue Calumet. Worked 28 years as a Plant Manager for International Harvester’s West Pullman Plant until its closing. Retired after 10 years from Robetson Transformer in Blue Island. Joe enjoyed wood carving and was a Past President of the South Suburban Chislers in South Holland, Member of the Joliet Chislers and taught wood carving at Merrillville High School. Fellow member of the Spaghetti-O group. Husband for 66 years of Eleanor nee Rovito. Father of Joel (Lisa) Calderone, Gina (August) Provenzano and Jamie (Sharon) Calderone. Grandfather of Neil (Eva) Calderone, Gretchen Calderone, Grace (Charlie Evans) Calderone, Kevin Calderone, Daniel and Maria Provenzano, Samuel “Sam” and Alex Calderone. Great grandfather of Julian Calderone-Evans. Son of the late Pearl nee Robertson and Cosimo Calderone. Brother of the late John Calderone. Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Friend of many. Resting at Panozzo Bros. Funeral Home, 530 West 14th Street (US Rt 30, 3 blks E of Western Ave), Chicago Heights on Sunday December 14, 2025 from 1:00 pm until time of Funeral Services 5:30 pm. What a beautiful legacy this man has left behind. May you all take comfort in knowing the pride and joy that you have honored him with over a lifetime will endure well beyond this day. As you gather together to celebrate him, take a look around you during this very special time to marvel at all the life and joy that he and Eleanor have created for you! I have know Joe and his family for near 61 years...neighbors in Thornton..best neighbors...he was at my parents funeral too...cannot say enough good bout joes and his family...he will be missed...love you all calderone family...may our lord hold you all close .....
