Juanita Johnson - 91

Juanita Johnson nee Wooten, age 91, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at her home in Park Forest, Illinois surrounded by her loving family.

Juanita was born March 23, 1933 to Estelle and Frank Wooten. She was a graduate of Wendell Phillips Academy High School. Juanita then worked at the Moody Bible Institute, her love of The Lord shining through her work and throughout her life. She was a faithful member of the South Side
Gospel Assembly where her father was the Pastor for many years.

In 1957, Juanita married Willie Johnson. Over the years, Juanita and Willie built a beautiful family together. She was the loving mother of Linda (George) Johnson,  DJ Johnson, Joy Marie (Mark) Bremner, Sondra Johnson, Cynthia (John) Nunez, Paul (Sheila) Johnson, Phillip (Gina) Johnson, Dana (Patrick) Teague and Daniel Patrick Johnson Sr.

Juanita was the cherished grandmother of 20 and great grandmother of 19. She is also survived by her siblings: Naomi Delores Thomas, Frank (Carol) Wooten, Walter (Mary Sue) Wooten and Leonard (Ruth) Wooten.  She was an aunt to many nieces and nephews and was an inspiration to so many more.

“I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, The Righteous judge, will award to me on that day, and not to me only but also to all who have longed for his appearing.”
II Timothy 4:7-8.

Family, friends, and others whose lives Juanita has touched are invited to join us  on Tuesday May 21, 2024 at Living Spring Community Church, 19051 S. Halsted, Glenwood, Illinois 60425.

Resting and visitation from 10:00 am until time of Funeral Service 12:00 pm.
Burial to follow at  Skyline Memorial Park, Monee, IL 60449.
