Leo Courshon. Age 66. Lifelong Park Forest resident, born in Chicago. Graduate of Rich East High School. Received his Bachelor’s in Horticulture from Southern Illinois University. Leo enjoyed growing plants, reading, cycling and spending time with family and friends. Husband for 42 years of Pamela nee Rhoda. Father of Benjamin “Ben” Courshon. Son of the late Cleo nee Tark and Jacob Courshon. Brother of John (Mary) and Jerome Courshon. Uncle and friend of many. Memorial services will be planned at a later date. Omg I've been trying to reach him lately..he was my best friend growing up..the hours we spent playing ping pong...visiting his grandma downtown..reading comic books...biking the hood..omg....rest in peace buddy

Pam and Ben, I am so very sorry about the loss of your husband and father. He is a was a special and unique person. His ability to helping myself and others to design beautiful gardens and others to also help design other spaces around around their homes. He will be missed

Leo, you were a true one of a kind. Your quick wit and weird humor was a model for me growing up, and your friendship was always a real comfort. Your grace in the face of a painful disease was a quiet inspiration, and your advice helped me navigate a turbulent time with my mother - I will always be grateful for that. And cosign to what Doug said about what you leave for us. Finally, much love to Pam and Ben - he was a good man who lived a good life. All blessings.

Hey Lee~ it's been a very long time that we've breathed the same air. It feels strange that you won't be coming home. Really strange. I look around your space- inside and out. You've done good, my friend. You had an excellent "eye" and I celebrate your accomplishments. And of everything that you have done I applaud your and Pam's perseverance at staying together as long as you did. But most of all, the creation of an amazing human ~ your son, Benjamin. What a legacy. Here's hoping that whatever dimension you have landed in has needs for a wonderful gardener. And may the pain be gone.
