Linnea Schramm - 62

Linnea Schramm. Age 62. Chicago Streeterville neighborhood resident, passed away suddenly May 21 2020. Linnea was born May 4, 1958 in Chicago Heights , Illinois. She attended St. Paul's Lutheran Grade School and graduated Bloom High School, Class of 1976. Graduated from University of Florida receiving a Bachelors Degree and Masters Degree in Nursing. Former Nursing Administrator at Shands Hospital University of Florida and Assistant Professor at University of Florida College of Nursing. Received her law degree at University of Florida. Medical Malpractice lawyer most recently at Litchfield Cavo LLP, and Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP. Linnea was a great sports enthusiast and especially fond of her Florida Gators. She was an active member of the Fourth Presbyterian Church and involved mentor for the youth group. She loved attending broadway plays, and her dinner club as well. Her generosity was one of her strongest traits. Her smile and laugh contagious. She never met a stranger. She loved and enjoyed her family and friends immensely . One of her greatest joys was her many nieces and nephews. Her presence will be so missed by many. Linnea is the daughter of the late Adeline nee Mazur and Lawrence Schramm. Sister of Margaret (Schramm) Sayre, the late Bill (Anita) Schramm , late Tom (Patricia) Schramm, and late James Schramm. Aunt of Sandy (Gary) Thomas, James (Lynn) Schramm, Krista (Edward) Mirabelli, Kirk (Melissa) Schramm, Dawn (Randy) Pitman, Dan (Kim) Schramm and Lori (Steve) Cartmill, and the late Michael Schramm. Beloved Great Aunt, cousin and wonderful friend of many. Due to the current circumstances, burial services were private St Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Flossmoor. I never knew there was a guestbook. I looked up Linnea in Google search today because I was thinking about her. I worked with her and was here assistant for a while at Hinshaw. But even before I worked with her, I had had a double mastectomy due to breast cancer and she surprised me by coming to see me after my surgery. That was one of the most thoughtful things anyone has ever done for me. I knew of her involvement in Haiti and the Tim Tebow foundation, and how much she did for those suffering. She also helped me when I was going through a depressive episode. Now, I am looking at her picture again and I am just sad for our loss. She was a wonderful human being and did so much for so many. I know this is late, but I want you to know that I think of her often and I will always remember her kindnesses toward me. XO - Peggy Michael.

I didn't know Linnea very well but the time spent with her lead me to believe that she was a kind and compassionate individual. She was a delightful mentor to my daughter ... the family must be feeling a tremendous void. My prayers are with you. Judi Smith

Linnea & I met at UF our freshman or sophomore year. She was a great girl--so smart & lots of fun. I am shocked & saddened to learn of her passing. My condolences to her family.

I work at the building that Linnea lived in. She was a wonderful lady and I will miss her. I hope that she finds the peace that she deserves.

Thinking of you all on this sad and difficult day. I only met Linnea a couple of times, but I know of all her volunteer work and family closeness through Sandy. What a wonderful person, she will be missed by so many. Keeping you all in our prayers.

Linnea was my long-time friend. I first met her when she was student at the College of Nursing, at UF. Later we became colleagues and then continued connections over the years as well as a wonderful visit to see her in her beloved Chicago. I think the obituary captured her personality well; she was generous, friendly, outgoing and knew how to offer her opinions. She was a friend to many here in Gainesville and to me. She will be missed by many, by me. Sending comfort and care to her family; I always enjoyed the many pictures of Linnea with her many family groups. I know you will struggle to have life without her. Thinking of you all.

I am truly numb with grief. Linnea was a dear nursing colleague and University of Florida College of Nursing friend . I treasured seeing her at our meeting and Gator functions or talking on the phone. She was always asking about our mission trips or travel adventures and we shared so many common journeys in life. This last year was so hard with her health challenges, but with tenacity and grit, she was past it all and ready for better days. We were going n a zoom call together 2 weeks before she suddenly passed away and she planned to visit me in northern Michigan this summer. So very sorry for her Chicago family & friends as she loved you so dearly. She had so many loving stories about you. She touched everyone blessed to know her and I will miss her laugh, heart and friendship so very much. I know she is at peace in the arms of our loving Lord, but this world needed Linnea and she will be deeply missed. Prayers for all of her family & May light perpetual shine on Linnea's glowing spirit!

I won't be able to watch the Gators, see an orange & blue sunset or take a stroll through Streeterville without imagining Linnea's laugh. My deepest condolences to her loved ones. I was fortunate to know her. Godspeed, friend.

Linnea was our nursing instructor at the University of Florida. She inspired many of us and is missed. She will be remembered by many caring individuals....
