Margaret T. “Peggy” Hamilton, nee Baker - 97

1/8/1929 - 8/20/2026

Margaret T. “Peggy” Hamilton, nee Baker, age 97, passed away peacefully after nearly ten decades of touching countless lives with her stories, shared birthdays, and boundless warmth. A current resident of Frankfort, and formerly of Sauk Village, Hazel Crest, Harvey, and Peotone, Peggy was a woman who always had a smile for everyone and was considered by many to be their very best friend. Peggy was a graduate of Thornton High School. She was the former co-proprietor of Hamilton Printing in Hazel Crest until its closing and later worked at Old National Bank/First Midwest Bank in Frankfort until her retirement. Deep in her faith, she was a longtime parishioner of the former St. Emeric Parish in County Club Hills, St. James the Greater Church in Sauk Village, and a current parishioner of St. George Church in Tinley Park. Peggy loved the simple pleasures of life: sharing coffee, playing cards, golfing, and visiting Gaelic Park with friends to listen to her favorite Irish bands. Together with her husband John, she enjoyed many memorable trips to Ireland and Scotland. Above all, she cherished spending every moment she could with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Throughout her life, Peggy was also dedicated to her community and honoring her family's heritage, participating in and supporting organizations such as the Girl Scouts, 4-H, the American Legion, the Purple Heart, and the Rotary Club. She was the wife of the late John Hamilton for over 40 years. Devoted mother of Barbara Scheffler and Catherine (Joseph) Estock. Cherished "Grandma Peg" of Tom (Laura) Estock, Lee Estock, Eric (Rachel) Estock, Melissa (Danny) Mouraditis, Michael Davlantis, and the late Christopher Davlantis. Proud Great-Grandma Peg of Tommy, Casey, Noelle, Will, Emma, Annabelle, Yianni, Jimmy, and Joseph. Beloved daughter of the late Bernadine and Thomas Baker, granddaughter of the late Georgia (nee Slattery) and late John Slattery. Loving sister of the late Cheryl Baker, the late Patricia (the late Don) Fair, the late Helen (the late George) Colley, of the late Len Slattery and sister-in-law of Lynn Slattery. She was a cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews. Memorial Visitation Panozzo Bros.
