Step-father of Joy (Chris) Rangel, Michelle Aldana and Daniel Guevara. Grandfather of Bianca (Michael) Pena, Sarrah Mireles, Mikayla, Michael and McKenzie Aldana, Daniel, Rolando and Geno Guevara. Great grandfather of Lyla Marie and Joseph Pena, Addy Mireles and Luke Aldana. Son of the late Lillian Michelina nee Cesarano  and Ernest Swortz. Brother of the late Kenny (Sherri) Swortz.
