Debbie, Rebecca, and Emily Phil was the best! Preaching to the choir here, but he was the nicest man! Rebecca can't help thinking about how supportive he was and how much fun we had in soccer, especially in our early Pumpkin Cup Championship Days! Deb---People like Phil do not come around often. How many times we had an appliance issue and he would drop everything to help us out! Thanks for sharing him! You picked a good one! His example and legacy will live on in you, the girls, and their families!

Phil was one of the nicest people we've ever met! He and I would joke while our spouses were on deck with swim meets. The Bodnar's send prayers to Debbie, Rebecca and Emily. A gentle man with a sense of humor, always had people laughing about something. He will be missed dearly. We are so truly sorry for your loss.

My condolences to the family. I worked with Phil at LG and we found we had several mutual friends going back to our days with Maytag. He was always upbeat and helpful to all. His love of family was always uplifting and well known. He will be missed and will not be forgotten by those who knew him.

From my family to the Matthews family, I'm sorry for the loss of Phil. He was my manager and I considered him a friend. Phil was the only person that could criticize or critique my method and make me feel good about it because I learned something. He taught me so much. I'm gonna miss the camaraderie we had. Until we see each other again. Godspeed phil.

"To the family of Phil Mathews, Please accept my most sincere condolences. Phil was a pillar of support for me, acting as both a mentor and a father figure. Through our work at LG, I came to rely on his wisdom, his humor, and his guidance. He had a unique way of shaping those around him, and I credit him for much of my growth as a technician and as an individual. He spoke of his wife and daughters with such deep affection, and I know his legacy will live on through you and his grandchild. I will forever cherish the memories of our time together. He was a truly kind man to me and my family, and he will never be forgotten."

Phil and I worked at LG. I'm older than Phil, which gave us a special connection. I will always remember his laugh and corny jokes. I was in shock when I heard he passed. May you all find peace knowing Phil is in heaven with his maker. He is probably working in the yard and building a tiki hut or something.

We are shocked and saddened to hear about Phil. We both worked with him at the Original Pancake House in Dolton and have many fun memories. We saw him a couple months ago at Aurelio's. He seemed truly happy. We will keep your family in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Debbie and family, We were so heartbroken to hear the news about Phil. Please know that our prayers and deepest condolences are with you and the entire family during this incredibly difficult time. Anyone who knew Phil knew that nothing in this world was more important to him than you and the girls. He was so incredibly proud of his family. I was looking back at our texts from a little while ago, and I am so struck by how much he beamed when talking about his life. All he could talk about was being a grandfather and how excited he was for that journey. That joy and love for his family is a beautiful legacy that we will always remember. Wishing you peace and strength as you navigate this loss. With all our love, Michael & Maryjo Polk

The world has lost a truly special man! The Mathews and Archino's lost a piece of our hearts. I send love and condolences to Deb, Emily and Edwin and also to my son Joey and his beautiful Wife Rebecca. All their children will know who Poppa Phil was and how much he loved his family. I am so grateful for how you made Joey a part of the Mathews family. Your multiple calls each week kept you in front of Bec and Joey. You were not here but you, Deb and Emily were always with them. Our family will never forget him and I will miss him very much. I am lucky to have known Phil and I promise to take care of your Rebecca!❤️
